The topic, Community Engagement = Good Communications, is part of the symposium, Issues in Civic Visioning. This event is being hosted by the NYC Department of Design and Construction and Town+Gown in collaboration with the AIANY/Center for Architecture and the AIANY/Public Architecture Committee.

Mark Randall will be a judge for the Sappi Ideas That Matter Program in Boston. This year, grants totaling $250,000 will be given to implement a designer’s pro-bono project for a non-profit organization.

Mark Randall is leading a workshop; Leveraging Good Design to Build a Strong Brand which will focus on on how a well-designed brand identity contributes to the success of a nonprofit or social venture. The session, for the Makers Institute, will take place at the Centre for Social Innovation in New York.

Mark Randall will be speaking at SUNY The College at Old Westbury in their Visiting Artists program. The school, located 20 miles outside of New York, is one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country with a mission tied to social justice.

The AIGA Gala is an annual celebration to honor the distinguished practitioners, educators and role models whose creativity, intelligence, perception and skill have inspired and shaped the entire design profession.

Worldstudio launches Impact! Sessions a webinar series on social design in collaboration with the School of Visual Arts. The six sessions in the series, hosted by Mark Randall, will be broadcast on alternating Fridays in March and April.

Opening night of Seán Curran Company’s 15th Anniversary season at the Joyce Theater in New York. Mark Randall designed projected titles for “Fireweather or the Mission of Virgil” a dance piece by choreographer Seán Curran with music by contemporary composer Charles Wuorinen. The choreography and music are both inspired by Dante’s “Inferno.”

Mark is on a panel for the Design Rebels Unite Symposium and book launch for The Design Activist’s Handbook in New York City. The panel includes authors Michelle Taute and Noah Scalin, Another Limited Rebellion along with Sheri Koetting, mslk and Daniel Schutzsmith, Mark & Phil. Mark, Sherri and Daniel are featured in the book.

World premiere of “Travel Songs” at the Debartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana. Mark Randall designed projections for “Travel Songs” an evening length work created by choreographer Seán Curran and the Seán Curran Company in collaboration with the Grammy Award winning acapella group The King’s Singers.
